As System Design Engineer - Interlocking (IXL), take part in specific needs identified throughout the project lifecycle. Identify and analyse the customer and product requirements to define and design standardized Interlocking (IXL) architecture and the related configurations. Reporting to Project Design Manager IXL
Join us on a permanent basis as a System Design Engineer - Interlocking (IXL) based out of Perth, Australia with Global Mobility offered for suitable applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture all the internal and external interfaces of the IXL system
- Identify the trackside equipment to be controlled and detected with the application conditions to the trackside engineering
- Identify the migration needs to be satisfied by the IXL solution
- Evaluate the space constraints for the installation of the pre-fitted configurations of the IXL solution
Project Requirements
- Define, among the available Alstom range of products or their evolutions, the components of the IXL Architecture composed by Interlocking Computer, object controllers etc.
- Lead the design of the pre-fitted solution of Interlocking power supply needs and interfaces towards other subsystems/equipment for signalling;
- Organize and lead the activities for the production of an exhaustive documental set to permit the correct assembly and off-site testing (FAT) of the pre-fitted solutions;
- Define the IXL equipment breakdown of the pre-fitted solution o ensure the application and adherence to the reference processes applicable to the solution design, methods & tools, requesting deviations whenever appropriate;
Qualifications & Skills
- Engineering Qualification: Computers, Software, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Automation
- Demonstrated time in Railway Signaling System.
- Experience in CBTC Technology, Major Brownfield Signalling Projects accompanied with computer based interlocking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Defect analysis and able to propose a corrective solution
- Ability to work transversally with Engineering teams
