About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting new opportunity for Systems and Network Administrator to join our team based at Tonsley, South Australia.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Reporting to the Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the configuration, operation and maintenance of our desktop and application infrastructure. You will play a key role in the success and effectiveness of the End User Computing (EUC) team, ensuring that BAE Systems end users are delivered a stable, secured and fit for purpose computing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake incident and service request resolution for Windows desktop systems and end point devices
- Package and deliver desktop applications within the environment, and maintain support and configuration documentation
- Maintain a high level of system integrity and security compliance
- Assist with the recommendation of hardware and software solutions for various projects and business deliverables
- Assist with the planning and implementation of Windows operating system patching and management infrastructure upgrades
- Educate customers and support teams in EUC environment concepts and troubleshooting techniques
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation
About YOU
- Demonstrated experience in a customer focused Information Technology (IT) team, promoting a high level of customer service and engagement
- Strong skills in general Windows systems administration and Linux administration in an enterprise environment
- Experience developing Ansible playbooks and setting up virtual environment using host and guest and migration from physical to virtual environment
- Knowledge of VMWare virtualisation technologies, power CLI, CentOs or Red Hat or Ubuntu
- Confidence to manage priorities and work under pressure and experience with physical hardware configuration, Cisco switches and configuration management
- Whilst not essential, qualification in ICT or related Diploma (desirable) or 2 to 3 years equivalent experience in an IT support role is essential
