We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join this team. You will be responsible for performing system upgrades and undertaking complex troubleshooting activities to ensure that our Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) services are maintained as per contracted service level agreements. You will also be responsible for mentoring, training and providing guidance to junior staff within GSOC.
Responsibilities
- Systems administration with Unix (Ubuntu Predominantly) based systems (including automated deployment experience).
- Automation experience with packages such as Puppet, Demisto, XSOAR, Hiera, Rundeck and
Ansible. - Experience with programming languages such as bash, python, Ruby
- Supports server hardware, software and applications.
- Demonstrable sound written and oral communications skills, be articulate in explanations, and communicate in a clear positive fashion with internal and external stakeholders, clients, and suppliers, covering highly complex solutions
- IT Degree and industry certifications in Systems administration
- Relevant experience in technologies such as: Linux, Automation, VMware, AWS/Azure Cloud,
SQL, Nutanix and ITIL will be highly regarded - 3 to 4 years' experience working with Linux and VMware
- NV1 Security clearance and eligibility to maintain
- Ability to interact with technical and management staff to develop and problem solve technical requirements
- Candidates must hold a current Australian Government Security clearance
- IRAP Assessment and remediation activities for the Linux fleet of servers
- Systems Administrator/Engineer who understands how to perform significant upgrades from
older versions and understands how applications tie into these servers - There are no upgrades, every server is a new build and this must be done under ISM controls
– someone who understands ISM is a must have - Deep Linux skills required, good communication skills, good documentations skills,
Automation skills (Puppet is being used), scripting skills (any strong Linux Engineer would
have this), Gitlab and SQL is highly desirable but is not a must. - Candidate coming in must understand Linux really well. Needs to be able to jump onto a
server, dig down and find out what is running on it. Evaluate what are the latest versions and
the implications of changing to this version. - Someone who needs to be a self-starter, they will come into an environment where they are
going to be driving results.
