An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Administrator to join the Canberra based Blacktree Technology team on a permanent basis.
Blacktree Technology is an innovative solutions integrator working with leading edge radio and satellite communications technology to connect people and organisations across the globe. Blacktree’s expertise covers all RF bands and technologies from HF, through to Commercial & Defence UHF, Satellite and Microwave.
This role is responsible for the provision of routine services for system security and administration of ICT System(s) and associated Software Products to our clients.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following, in line with the relevant client contract and approved Standard Operating Procedures:
- Create, administer and delete user and group account permissions, as required to meet client specific requirements.
- Design group policies and access control lists to ensure compatibility with client requirements.
- Manage network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
- Implement and enforce local OS and application access policies and procedures.
- Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
- Undertake daily OS events monitoring and take action to ensure any problem or failure is resolved prior to any impact on the system users.
- Undertake maintenance and management task including application of identified patches for ICT systems, planning and execution of data redundancy and system recovery procedures, installation, implementation, configuration, and support of system components, and undertaking repairs on faulty system/server hardware.
- Maintain baseline system security and perform security investigations and security compliance audits as required.
- Maintain security accreditation and develop and maintain security documents.
What you'll need to succeed
- Microsoft server & infrastructure certification.
- Cisco network certification.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability and willingness to travel away from home for work as required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be an Australian citizen and hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence NV1 Security Clearance.
- C Class Driver’s Licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Knowledge of Splunk, MPRG
- Knowledge of Kratos Compass, Monics
- Experience with maintaining Dell server hardware
- Working knowledge of the ITIL framework
