The Opportunity:
Maritime Cross-Platform SPO (MCPSPO) delivers integrated cross-class sustainment services, expert advice, and quality asset management through CN49 Cross-Platform Items of Supply for Maritime Capability, and CN61 Navy Sea Boat Capability Product Schedules. MCPSPO undertakes sophisticated requirements determination, engineering support, and supplier engagement, to buy and repair agreed inventory baseline items to meet predicted customer preparedness requirements.
As a component of the MCPSPO reform, the MCPSPO System Engineer will undertake a governance and assurance function, which includes serving as the Commonwealth (CoA) Design Acceptance Representative (DAR) for engineering change. The responsibilities of the Integrated Work Partner (IWP) include delivering according to the priorities set by the MCPSPO.
Reporting to the IWP Platform and Auxiliary Systems Engineering Manager, this position is accountable for carrying out daily engineering and logistics tasks in alignment with the MCPSPO Engineering Management System (EMS).
Responsibilities:
Engage in requirements engineering activities
Carry out design tasks as part of both the preliminary design and detailed design stages of an ECP
Prepare or contribute towards the design of statements of work for procurement purposes
Conduct Verification and Validation (V&V) tasks as part of engineering change management activities
Execute the system safety program and undertake safety engineering activities
Develop or contribute towards the development of service requirements as part of set out maintenance definition
Identify items for supply codification and collaborate with the logistics office to complete codification and cataloguing
Undertake logistics support analysis
Undertake sparing analysis
Conduct technical investigations
Utilise your technical expertise to provide engineering advice and support such as SQEP Review
What will you bring:
Hold an active Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance (or above)
Tertiary qualification in Engineering
Eligible for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearance on relevant ship systems
Experience (minimum 6 years) within Defence / Defence Industry with marine systems and structures desirable
Desirable:
Prior CASG experience
Experience with configuration management support system applications - CMT, AMPS, NAVALLOW, and/or MILIS
