We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Systems Safety Engineer to join the SESA Team based in either Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra or Brisbane. Human Factors experience is highly valued, but not essential. You will be part of an inclusive, highly skilled and dynamic team where you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and have a major impact on projects across Australia.As part of the SESA team you will be involved in delivering great outcomes, developing junior team members and contributing to our SESA framework.About you
You enjoy understanding complexity and finding simple solutions to sort out complex problems. You enjoy bringing clarity and understanding when different groups of people meet, you help people express concepts in new ways to bring shared understanding and resolve conflict.
- Experience preparing, facilitating and reporting on Hazard Analysis activities (SiD, PHA, SHA, SSHA, OSHA, IHA).
- Creating and reviewing Safety (and/or Human Factors) management plans and assurance reports.
- Deriving, managing, verifying and validating safety (and/or Human Factors) related requirements.
- A strong ability to manage conflicting technical system demands, from identification through to resolution
- Around 5 years' experience in Systems Safety Engineering. o Experience in rail is highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering Safety Management, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines such as:
- ONRSR Major Project Guideline
- EN 50126/8/9 o RISSB Systems Safety Assurance Guideline
