The Department of Education and Training (DET) leads on Victorian Child Information and Early Childhood Systems reforms and will continue to refine and implement Child Link and the Kindergarten Information Management System (KIMS) and will lead on the delivery of technology to support measuring attendance at kindergarten. In working together, we will make the best use of information and data to contribute to better outcomes for children today and into the future. Responding to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses into Child Sexual Abuse, Child Information Sharing (CIS) reforms promote the optimisation of children's engagement in government-funded services, and a shared commitment to child well-being and safety across services and communities.
Child Link is being developed to help facilitate the sharing of information between authorised professionals who have responsibility for child wellbeing and safety. Child Link is a new and innovative system within government which has been built on best-in-class technology, incorporating a Master Data Management (MDM) platform and cloud-based services. Child Link displays a thin layer of factual information about a child, along with limited but critical information, such as a child's participation in key early childhood and education services to authorised key professionals who have responsibility for child wellbeing and safety.
Reporting to the Director of System Operations for Child Link, the Senior Specialist System Operations will lead a dedicated operations team set up to support and administer Child Link. The Child Link System Operations team will be providing support to end users and stakeholders both internal and external to the Department of Education and Training.
