About the Role:
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Locum Emergency Department Nurses to join our dynamic team. As a Locum ED Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in emergency departments across regional Tasmania. This is a temporary position to cover staffing needs, offering flexibility and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Conduct initial patient assessments and triage, prioritising care based on acuity
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and responses to interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation
- Assist in emergency procedures and interventions as necessary
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care
- General registration with AHPRA
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
- Triage training and experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
