Your new role
We have an opportunity for a Manager, Investments Tax to join the global Investments Tax team on a 12-month max-term contract. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Tax, this role is responsible for managing the tax workstreams within investment transactions, providing tax advisory support and managing tax risks with respect to the Fund’s investments, supporting strategic initiatives for the investments department and maintaining relations with various stakeholders. The role will involve substantial interaction with the Investments Department, in particular the Mid Risk and Private Equity teams, the broader Tax Services teams and Investments Legal.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage the tax due diligence and structuring processes for all investments (both direct and indirect) at acquisition and at disposal
- As part of the deal team for each new investment, collaborate with colleagues in the Investments Legal team to ensure transaction documentation achieves the intended tax outcomes of the structure identified and appropriately mitigates tax risk of the Fund
- Ensure proposed investments comply with Australian and International tax laws and meet all requirements of the Fund’s tax risk policies
- Ensure all tax issues covering the whole of investment life cycle are identified and communicated to all relevant parties
- Assist with planning and execution of the Fund’s investment tax strategy
What you’ll need
- 10+ years of experience, including experience with the structuring of domestic and international property and infrastructure investments and/or corporate M&A transactions within either a professional services, superannuation or funds management environment.
- Advanced understanding of taxation legislation in relation to investment markets and securities
- Experience with the preparation of reports, undertaking analysis of information and drawing of conclusions
- Knowledge of superannuation funds’ taxation requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting disciplines or Tax Law
