Role Purpose
The Tax Specialist is responsible for leading the tax sub-function of the country, developing and administering plans on tax related matters, tax compliance and accounting principles to maintain effective tax rate, minimise tax risk and improve cash flow in line with business objectives, group policies, regulations and compliance requirements.
Accountabilities
- Tax Return Filings - Review and approve tax returns of all Australian entities including maintenance of audit ready documents
- Tax Audits - Support and review the submissions to be filed for tax audits and assist in closure of tax audits
- Transfer Pricing - Prepare Local and Master File, support transfer pricing documentation and support Group on cross border transactions
- Stay updated and analyse impact on new tax regulations and laws.
- Communicate relevant tax law changes and amendments to finance colleagues
- Co-ordinate with external service providers for tax and compliance areas such as tax consultancy firms
- Support the implementation of tax compliant and tax efficient processes
- Support finance colleagues with tax advice
- Execute tax related processes in compliance with laid down processes, controls, regulations and systems
- Provide inputs for enhancing tax processes/ guidelines to lower the tax rate and to optimize the tax structure
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent experience/qualification
- Expert knowledge in Australian tax law including experience in managing tax audits and transfer pricing
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Excellent English language skills
- Analytical and conceptual skills, well organised, structured, and independent mode of working
