We are currently seeking applications for a Taxation Officer, to join RevenueSA, Property Services at The Department of Treasury & Finance for an ongoing basis.

Remuneration:  ASO4 – Salary Range ($75 430 - $79 070 p.a.).

About the opportunity:
The Taxation Officer is responsible for analysing and resolving complex property related data and/or financial information, which is received from other agencies such as Land Services SA and the Office of the Valuer-General or customer queries. They will investigate and amend data relating to complex state based taxation and/or financial matters, with a focus on land tax and the Emergency Services Levy (ESL).

This role requires good analytical and numerical capabilities, an ability to read, understand and apply legislation and a strong focus on attention to detail.  Good communication skills are also required to provide a high level of customer service. You will work as part of a team, and display initiative and professionalism.

The ASO4 Taxation Officer, Data Integrity Team contributes to the achievement of RevenueSA’s taxation objectives by:

  • Clearly and concisely explaining and applying legislation/policy;
  • Carrying out detailed investigations relating to property data and ownership;
  • Identifying system data discrepancies/irregularities and making appropriate corrections;
  • Processing complex administrative tasks;
  • Liaising with Department of Human Services regarding ESL concession issues; and
  • Assisting other staff with training and any queries.

  • Experienced in the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice policies, procedures, strategies and/or initiatives.
  • Have the ability to work independently, under limited direction.
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines and manage high workloads with competing priorities.
  • Able to work within a team environment to share knowledge and experience to others.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of data integrity, and the impact it can have on businesses and individuals, including State Government finances.
  • A strong focus on attention to detail, particularly when data is incorrect and requires manual changes.
  • Ability in interpreting and applying legislation
