This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position with possible extension commencing Term 2, 2024

Lake Grace District High School (DHS) is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Education Teacher to join their regional school.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be expected to help create a school environment that is positive, safe, and instructionally focused whilst providing engaging classroom communities which are personalised to support the success of each and every learner. The applicant will ideally possess the skills required to build and then maintain productive relationships with all members of the school community.

Ideally applicants should be able to provide examples of outstanding pedagogy and knowledge of contemporary whole-school practices which are applicable to an Early Childhood classroom. Evidence of a commitment towards collaborative practices encompassing the whole teaching, learning and assessment cycle would benefit applications.

Lake Grace DHS is a proud independent public school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The Location and Community

Located in the Great Southern Wheatbelt, Lake Grace DHS is set in a vibrant and progressive rural community. Lake Grace has many popular attractions, including historical museums, cultural story trails, public art displays, beautiful salt lakes, unusual rock formations and beautiful wildflower walks.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
