Melville Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of English teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Suitable applicants should possess an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Years 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner.
Ideally, suitable applicants will be dynamic, dedicated and highly motivated educators with the ability to develop high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Suitable applicants should have a strong knowledge of teaching strategies to support literacy skill development and strong performance in National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). At Melville SHS we are committed to improving the literacy skills of our students in lower school to support their achievement across the Year 7 to 10 curriculum and ensure their success in General and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level courses in Senior School. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information and Communications Technology (ICT) based technologies and cooperative learning and instructional strategies is highly desirable.
Suitable applicants should be highly committed and collaborative and possess a strong ability to work effectively with our dedicated English team. Suitable applicants will actively participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on their own teaching practice to enhance student engagement and to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching. They will work in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area and the English team to lead strategies and identified initiatives in English that continue to drive a culture of ongoing improvement in relation to student engagement, classroom teaching and student performance across Years 7 to 12.

ELIGIBILITY

TRAINING
