The Opportunity
Awarded Employer of Choice in 2019 and 2021, we’re looking for a highly motivated and proactive Procurement and Contracts Officer to join our busy procurement team on a permanent full-time basis.
As the Procurement and Contracts Officer, you will provide high quality assistance to internal and external stakeholders with the daily operations of procurement and contracting activities including tenders, evaluations and contract management.
You will also champion the continuous improvement of the delivery of procurement functions across Council.
Required skills & experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess tertiary qualifications and/or recent experience in procurement, accounting, or a related discipline; experience with tender processes and evaluations; demonstrated experience in working with Australian Standard and Government contracts; demonstrated knowledge of the Local Government Act and Regulations with regards to tendering and contractual arrangements practices.
You should also possess well-developed communication skills; proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office; well developed report writing skills; and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Key accountabilities include
- Deliver high level assistance with Councils procurement processes including the development, preparation, and advertising of EOIs, request for quotations and tenders.
- Provide support, advice and strategic input relating to procurement and contract management.
- Ensure all policies and procedures, systems and legislative requirements within relevant areas of responsibility are adhered to and consistently applied.
- Develop and update systems, processes and templates for procurement and contract management including but not limited to Request for Tenders, quotations, Expressions of Interest, Agreements, Contracts, Contract Management and other forms and supporting documentation.
