Appointment Pool

Willetton Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2025 school year.

Suitable applicants will ideally have experience and/or knowledge in teaching in this learning area and in particular Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) courses. Displayed knowledge, understanding of curriculum requirements, standards, and teaching experience and/or qualifications in Senior School courses offered by the Humanities and Social Sciences learning area, including Accounting and Finance, Business Management and Enterprise, Earth and Environmental Science, Economics, Geography, Modern History, Philosophy and Ethics and Politics and Law are highly desirable.

Applicants should be relationship focused and able to display strong interpersonal skills while working collaboratively in a team environment. Suitable applicants will be joining a progressive and enthusiastic team of teachers who are engaged in implementing a whole school approach to the educational programs offered. Applicants should be able to possess a willingness to lead curriculum development and teaching pedagogy to meet the needs of Year 7 to Year 12 students and be directly involved in the teaching of Modified or Literacy focused classes and of Gifted and Talented students if required. Graduate teachers are encouraged to apply for this pool.

Willetton Senior High School is one of the largest schools in Western Australia, with a student population in excess of 2700, approximately 230 teaching staff and 145 support staff on campus. ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
