Position Information

Forster Public School is a school of 559 students K-6 and 5 Support Classes.  Forster Public School is situated in Forster, NSW where the traditional custodians are the Worimi people.  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders represent 26% of the school population.  At Forster Public School we believe that every student should be challenged to learn in a supportive and inclusive class environment where student voice is encouraged and authentically heard.

Selection Criteria
  1.  Approval to teach students with Learning and Support needs (primary) and/or experience teaching students with Learning and Support needs (primary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional Learning and Support needs and their teachers. 
  2. Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, effective communication and building positive relationships with all students, colleagues, parents, external agencies, and the wider school community.
  3. Provide in class support to identified students through leading the development, modification and implementation of student Learning and Support plans.
  4. Experience in the processes that support an inclusive educational setting which positively impacts student wellbeing and development.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

This is a permanent part-time position for 3 days per week 0.6 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
