Hobartville Public School is a comprehensive K-6 primary school located in Richmond NSW in the Hawkesbury area north-west of Sydney. Beginning as a school providing a comprehensive service to the children of the men and women in the RAAF in Richmond, our school develops student's ability to operate in the world with integrity and high expectations of themselves. Hobartville Public School has a current enrolment of 355 students. 15% of the students in our school identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our 18 classes include a well-integrated Multicategorical support unit of 5 classes. Staff engage in a variety of professional learning including Explicit Instruction driven by embedded collaborative practice. Teachers reflect and collaborate to grow in responsive teaching. Wellbeing programs support students, teachers and families.

Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary,
- Ability to lead by example in a visible, active and positive manner, to build and nurture school culture and maintain high expectations for the school.
- Capacity to build and sustain strong, authentic partnerships with parents and community.
- Ability to lead, coach and inspire staff to engage in high impact instruction reflecting current researched-based pedagogical practice.
- Capacity to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complex leadership and management role of an Assistant Principal.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
