Arcadia College (www.arcadia.qld.edu.au) is a Co-Ed Independent Secondary Special Assistance School located at Robina, Gold Coast. We are located in our beautiful purpose built school next to the Robina railway station.
Our school actively engages young people who have prematurely disengaged from main stream high schools both on campus and through Distance Education. Arcadia delivers academic outcomes in a nurturing and welfare based environment. We strive and achieve high attendance levels. We continue to invest heavily in additional teaching and welfare support into our classrooms to address the individual needs of our students. Our school is exceptionally well resourced. Every classroom has a Qld. Registered Teacher, a Teacher Aide and direct access to professional welfare support from our team of Psychologists, Nurses, Youth Workers and Student Engagement Officers. Due to continued growth, and with the absolute aim of delivering individual support to our students, we require a Secondary Teacher for our Distance Education department. This role is a permanent full time position, based on-site at our school in Robina. Term 3 start date.

Key Responsibilities /Selection Criteria.
- Proven ability of working with the Australian Curriculum-Secondary Education.
- Experience working with students on the Autism Spectrum or those who have other intellectual and learning disabilities and mental health concerns.
- Proven ability in developing engaging unit and lessons plans and making adjustments for students with disabilities and special needs.
- Help develop support documentation for Individual Support Plans, IEPS, ICP, NCCD.
- Pastoral care and support of students to develop social and personal skills for independent and successful community living.
- Monitor, assess and report on students' academic progress.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working with disengaged students, students with a disability or at risk.
- Must possess strong computer skills and demonstrate competence in computer use.
Qualifications & Experience.
- Current full registration with Qld College of Teachers (QCT).
- Qualifications in Secondary School Teaching and Special Education.
- Experience working with disengaged, at risk students, and a demonstrated ability to successfully engage these students in learning.
- Recent graduates with Special Education qualifications are encouraged to apply.
