In the past 20 years, we have grown significantly to become a multi-sector institute, delivering a broad range of education and training programs and services in higher education, vocational education and training (VET) and school sectors across ten campuses in Victoria, online, in the workplace and overseas with partner educational and government organisations.
We offer more than 400 courses, from Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM)/Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS), through to nationally accredited qualifications such as certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, graduate diplomas and short courses.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be accountable for providing professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
  • Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
  • Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and meet their needs and learning styles
  • Design and develop high quality teaching and learning resources including tailored materials in a range of formats to suit varying learning styles
  • Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards, training packages and related requirements
  • Establish and maintain a positive learning environment, including encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning
  • Enhance the student experience to improve engagement early on and assist learners to interact with their academic and social environment to prevent attrition and to encourage success
  • Engage with employers and industry representatives as required, to adapt teaching materials and content to meet industry and employer needs are current
  • Collaborate and develop key partnerships with industry bodies and employers to renew educational delivery practices and materials
ABOUT YOU
You will bring the following skills and experience with you:
  • Diploma in VET Practice or qualifications that meet the RTO Standards
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
  • Teachers must be vocationally competent, current, and able to teach all courses offered within their primary discipline area
  • Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience
  • A record of Vocational Competency, mapped to Units of Competency engaged to deliver
  • A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge
Crucial to your success will be your proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and employers to maintain currency of delivery methods and materials
In addition to this, you will be highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with stakeholders from a broad range of social and cultural backgrounds.
You will also have well-developed skills in transferring knowledge, including the ability to research, select and use a wide range of learning resources and Assessment tools and have a strong understanding of contemporary approaches to education, teaching and learning.
