The Teaching Fellow position is for the Pre-degree Programs suite of courses (including the Diploma of University Studies and University Preparation Program) located in part of the .
Teaching Fellows are highly skilled educators and are members of a teaching team who engage in reflective practice to inform and deliver a high-quality curriculum that results in a quality student experience. The role is responsible for the collaborative design, development, and delivery of curriculum, including discipline content, assessment of student work, and unit coordination (which may involve the coordination of tutors).
As the chosen candidate, you will play a significant role in learning and teaching projects spearheaded by the University College and participate in academic pursuits that enhance these initiatives.
You should be a seasoned Science educator, capable of instructing in our Pre-Degree Programs. We prefer candidates with a background in teaching or working within the realm of Science. Lab teaching experience is highly desirable.
What you'll do:
  • Work with experts and teachers to create high-quality units with effective pedagogy.
  • Teach units through various methods, collaborate with relevant parties, assess students, and handle teaching-related tasks.
  • Help students with academic issues and connect them to the right services.
  • Commitment to improving teaching and learning at University College, with a priority on development of incumbent's own teaching skills.
  • Contribute to outreach activities with the wider community.
What we're looking for:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or relevant experience.
  • Experience in learning and teaching that demonstrates a high quality and contemporary curricula.
  • Experience in catering for diverse and non-traditional learners with a variety of delivery approaches.
  • Proven capacity to work in a complex and changing work environment.
  • History of establishing and sustaining strong and productive connections within and across the field and the profession.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and excellent time and workload management skills.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $147,083 comprising base salary within the range of $108,285 to $125,712 plus 17% superannuation.
