Position Information
Euabalong West Public School is located on the lands of the Wiradjuri people in the remote township of Euabalong West in central west NSW. It is located 80 kms west of Condobolin and 171 kms north of Griffith. The school caters for families located in the townships of Euabalong and Euabalong West, as well as families living on farming properties within a 70 km radius. The current FOEI is 156.
The school has a current enrolment of 15 students, of whom 10 identify as Aboriginal. The school is organised into two multistage classes, K-2 and 3-6. Personalised learning enhances the school's capacity to cater for all students' learning needs. The school enjoys welcoming incoming students from the local pre-school in Murrin Bridge.
The community takes pride in the school and its activities and are avid participants at all events. The school partners with its families, Lake Cargelligo AECG, and the Lake Learning Links collaboration of local schools.
Euabalong West Public School is an active member of West Wyalong Network small schools’ collaboration, providing curriculum, social, sporting and extra-curricular activities across schools. The school is also a key member of the Lower Lachlan Primary School Sports Association and the Lake Cargelligo Small Schools Sports Group.
The school continues to make progress towards the identified Strategic Improvement Plan areas of: Student Growth and Attainment, Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and A School-wide Culture of High Expectations.
Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.
- Demonstrated ability to balance the complex and competing priorities of teaching, leading and managing the school as a Teaching Principal.
- Capacity and commitment to engage parents and the broader community in the life of the school and build strong collaborative partnerships that support all students to connect, succeed and thrive.
- Proven capacity to lead, inspire and support staff in a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement through the implementation of the department’s priorities through quality professional learning and effective evaluation processes.
- Ability to foster an authentic environment of cultural safety and awareness in collaboration with Aboriginal elders and knowledge holders, to enhance educational opportunities for students in delivering effective learning and wellbeing outcomes.
General Selection Criteria
- High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex Public School focused on the delivery of high quality education
- Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
- Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
- Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
- Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP2 for 2024.
