About the Position
The City has an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and experienced ICT professional to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) team. The PMO Team Leader plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution and management of technology projects within the City. This position involves overseeing a team of project managers and business analysts and coordinating project initiatives, aligning them with the City’s strategic goals. With a sharp focus on customer needs and agility, you will foster an environment where innovation flourishes.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the PMO Team Lead will include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment;
- Focus on delivery of the highest business value as timely as possible;
- Seek and encourage innovation and continuous improvement in our processes, tools and solutions;
- Establish and enforce Project Management and business analysis best practices and standards within the PMO;
- Develop and maintain the City’s technology project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives;
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects, tracking progress and ensuring project objectives are met;
- Contribute to updates of the Project Management Framework, Business Analysis Framework, Solutions Development Standards and Procedures, templates and tools to ensure consistency in project delivery;
- Support the Service Lead - PMO and Business Systems in operational and portfolio reporting and provide advice to improve the Project Management Office’s capability and maturity;
- Allocate resources, including budget and staff, to projects as needed and optimise resource utilisation;
- Cultivate strong relationships and maintain open and effective communication with key stakeholders and external partners;
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and continuous improvement to maximise the impact of projects on the City and local community.
About You
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.
- Relevant Project Management industry certification or equivalent deemed experience (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP or AGILE PM);
- Possession of relevant solutions development certification or equivalent deemed experience in an agile environment (e.g. Human Centred Design, Business Analysis, Scrum Master, DevOps, DevSecOps, ITIL 4);
- Significant experience in managing and leading small to large complex projects/programs that deliver business application and/or technology solutions; and
- Experience in managing project teams across complex organisations using both internal and external resources.

This full-time position is a Level 9 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a negotiable salary up from $119k gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation for the right candidate.
To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
