We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Wagerup Alcoa team.

The Role:
Worley delivers ongoing site capital services to Alcoa including smaller and larger brownfield upgrade projects. Our services include: Engineering design and drafting, Project Management, Project Controls, Construction and commissioning leadership and operational support. Joining the Worley team will provide the opportunity to be involved in newly developed technology, and decarbonization projects that will be rolled out across other industries. Due to ongoing demand, our Perth team is seeking a Senior Project Team Lead to join our Alcoa portfolio in Wagerup.
Based at site in Wagerup, as part of the Project Team, you will work with a high performance and motivated team to deliver the project objectives, supporting the integration between the various engineering disciplines, project parties and subject matter experts. Once settled in the role there is the possibility to negotiate a hybrid working arrangement.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a HSE focus in the team to ensure OHSE requirements are included in design and procurement
  • Establish, maintain and build healthy client relationships and resolve project issues with the client as they arise
  • Ensure compliance with WPMP, with the requirements of the contract and apply effective change control process
  • Monitor cost aspects of the project within direct control and forecast final costs, identify trends and take action to avoid cost overruns
  • Effective and clear communication with design team and third parties and accurate and effective reporting to the project manager
  • Set clear objectives to the design team and manage inter-discipline interfaces effectively
  • Assist where required with the procurement process throughout the project to ensure goods meet specification, are delivered on time and within budget
Qualifications
What you will bring to the role
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
  • A recognised mechanical engineering degree.
  • Previous technical, practical and leadership experience in mechanical engineering in a brownfields environment and proven experience in leading
  • You will be an enthusiastic team player, with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in phase gate delivery.
  • Multidisciplinary engineering project understanding.
  • Refining and process experience
