About You

As a Westhaven Team Leader, you will:

  • Empower a team of Support Workers to provide high-quality and safe services to vulnerable persons within our community
  • Coach and mentor a team of Support Workers, offering on-the-job training, support and guidance
  • Inspire a skilled, versatile, and diverse team utilising your experience in managing performance and delivering support
  • Support service delivery by ensuring effective and efficient administrative processes and procedures, including quality, timely and accurate reporting, planning and record-keeping

You will have:

  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities, confidence and emotional intelligence that enable you to resolve complex situations
  • The ability to interact positively at all levels, including demonstrated capacity to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and performance manage a team within a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the capacity to work closely with stakeholders in the development of innovative supports
  • Demonstrated ability to build a cohesive team with clarity around goals and accountabilities
  • A leadership style that fosters innovative, creative and collaborative practices and the ability to motivate others
  • Willingness to take a person-centred approach to working with vulnerable persons to ensure that the goals and aspirations of the person with disability are understood
  • Celebrate and nurture an inclusive, diverse and supportive workplace
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability Services, Community Services or Individual Support or equivalent working experience in the area of disability services
  • Experience supporting individuals with disability, complex needs, behaviours of concern and/or mental health

Compliance requirements

  • Current NSW Driver’s licence
  • Obtain and maintain a current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Obtain and maintain a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme Workers Check (NDISWC)
  • Willingness to undertake a pre-employment police check
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
