- Lead the Careers and Employability team to achieve university objectives in-line with the Careers and Employability Framework and evidenced based practice– developing, implementing, evaluating, and reporting project objectives.
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance regarding the implementation of the Careers and Employability framework across the university.
- Provide specialist advice and recommendations to leadership that inform and enhance an evidence- based approach to support the Careers and Employability Framework.
- Support and deliver a suite of career counselling and career education services to individual students including individual career counselling, career planning and career assessment.
- Manage a team of Career Officers across national campuses, assisting in recruitment, training supervision, professional development, mentoring, and pastoral care.
- Foster positive working relationships nationally with Faculty and central offices, and partnerships with employer organisations and community agencies, to facilitate the integration of degree-discipline knowledge and learning with career development learning.
- Supportive of the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
- A relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and training with proven leadership and coordination experience in a similar role.
- Hold a current registration as a Career professional with Career Industry Council Australia.
- Strong aptitude in the understanding of the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners.
- Proven experience in the provision of career counselling and the management of client records in an organisational setting.
- Ability to administer, interpret and report on vocational assessment tools and to apply interventions relevant to the needs of a culturally diverse tertiary student population.
- Excellent operational and project coordination skills including the ability to analyse issues and problems, develop feasible solutions, and manage multiple concurrent projects from initiation through to completion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation skills and experience in preparing proposals, reports, and policy documents.
- Acquire excellent time management and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate advanced computer literacy and proficiency in using Microsoft Office and ability to learn University internal software.
- Hold strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the institution, work respectfully with others, including in cross-cultural or other diverse contexts, and engage people in positive ways to achieve outcomes.
