Team Leader - Community Support

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent full-time Team Leader to join our Brightwater at Home Team.  Based north of the river of Perth, you will be working closely with a customer-oriented team offering support, training and leadership to a team of Community Support Workers (CSWs) on an ongoing basis.

To be suitable for this role, you must possess:

• Certificate III in Community Services (aged care/disability/individualised support) with experience in providing direct care and support
• Strong commitment to providing, with the capability to deliver, safe high-quality care, a dementia care leadership role, and dementia care training.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills that deliver effective leadership develop inclusive teamwork and establish successful relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Knowledge of human resource management principles, including experience in staff recruitment and selection, performance coaching, and training and development.
• Strong customer focus with the ability to deal with pressure, excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to be flexible and adapt in a dynamic environment, and strong organisational and time management skills.
• Cert IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Advanced manual handling skills, with a "Manual Handling Champion certificate" (desirable).
• Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (desirable).
• Experience in working with people with dementia, including those with adverse behaviours (desirable).
• Experience in working with people with mental health issues and/or illnesses (desirable).
• First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old.
• Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
• A safe, registered, and suitably insured motor vehicle able to be used for work purposes.
• Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
• Up-to-date influenza immunisation
