Job description

Team Leader (Contaminated Land) - Land Quality & Remediation, VIC

About the business and role
SLR Consulting is an international environmental consultancy with a globally recognised reputation for providing high quality tailored services. With offices throughout the Asia Pacific, Europe, North, Central and South America and Africa regions, we are one of a very small number of leading international specialist environmental consultancies. We have committed to being a Climate Neutral Business by 2030 and have a long-term commitment to align with global net zero ambitions.

At SLR Consulting, we celebrate a ‘One Team Culture’, where bringing together diversity of thought and expression is key to building the best team to deliver excellent results. We strive to create an inclusive workplace where we value different experiences and look to create a culture where everyone belongs. The SLR culture is underpinned by our 5Bs which, in short is to Be safe, Belong, Be trusted, Be yourself and Be Successful.

In this role, you will be leading the Victorian Land Quality and Remediation team as well as support the delivery of technical work either in the field of environmental auditing, expert witness or site assessment. Your team will consist of contaminated site auditors, technical specialists such as principal hydrogeologists, risk assessors, chemists, remediation engineers as well as environmental scientists and engineers both locally and nationally. This opportunity has come from the existing Team Lead moving into a more technical role within the business.

We will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders across the region and provide you with the support on your technical growth within the wider SLR team. With a passion for Contaminated Land management, earth sciences, contaminated hydrogeology, or environmental engineering, you will work with likeminded individuals, whilst enjoying excellent career opportunities across a range of industry sectors. As a self-starter, you will be able to display confidence and high-level project management, tenders/proposals preparation, data analysis and interpretation, and reporting.

Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:

•    A professional qualification in environmental science or engineering or other relevant degree and a minimum of 8 years professional experience in consulting or similar industry role

Many people won’t apply for roles unless they feel they tick every box on the checklist. At SLR we look for many different skills and technical competencies and we’re always looking for how new team members can add value to the business and to our culture. If you think this role isn’t quite for you, but you have a desire to work with us, we’d still love to hear from you!

We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills and passion. Please note that interviews are conducted with gender diverse interview panels to the best of our ability. When you apply, please tell us the pronouns you use and any reasonable adjustments you may need during the interview process.
