About the position
The City is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant Team Leader that provides direction, guidance and coaching to staff under day-today supervision using advanced resources allocation and people skills to achieve quality outputs aligned to customer needs.
This position, reporting to the Coordinator Financial & Strategic Accounting, is responsible for the provision of quality outcomes in accordance with customer needs, by applying skills, knowledge, experience and judgement, guided by established policies, procedures and methods as well as the application of professional standards, education and training to meet current and anticipated changing organisational needs.
About you
As a Team Leader Financial Accounting you must be able to thrive working in a very busy and change driven organisation. As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they meet the following capabilities:
Qualification with an Australian professional accounting body such as CA or CPA;
University degree in a relevant discipline such as commerce or business with a major in accounting;
Relevant experience in a similar role which is responsible of preparation of annual statutory financial statements, general ledger closure and people management;
Extensive knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, relevant legislations and regulations;
Team Leadership driven, skilled in supervising the work of others, providing technical assistance and motivating staff;
Advanced research and analysis skills;
Advanced negotiation and influencing skills; and
Highly advanced computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
