Our client is a well known national mid-tier firm in the defendant insurance litigation space. They're located in the heart of the CBD, offer WFH flex and are known for being just a lovely place to work.
The newly created role is in their Insurance Litigation team. Your role will be split between Paralegal duties, and managing a team of Paralegals.
Some of the key responsibilities:
Team Leader:
- Assisting HR with the recruitment process for your team
- Managing resources and ensuring work is distributed appropriately
- Onboarding new starters, including induction and training
- Implementing systems and process and reviewing these processes as needed
- Optimising the use of internal systems, such as practice/document management software
- Being the go-to person for the team
Paralegal:
- Preparation of legal documents and correspondence
- Assisting and reporting directly to solicitors
- Preparing summaries and memorandums
- Entering your billable time accurately and in a timely manner
- Preparing matters for conference and hearing, including preparation of court and legal documents and general correspondence
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients, employees and Counsel
- General administrative duties as required
About you:
- At least 6 years experience as a Legal Secretary or Paralegal in Defendant Insurance Litigation
- Experience as a Team Leader where you managed others
- High level of attention to detail
- Intermediate-advanced MS Office skills
- It goes without saying, but you'll have experience using a practice management software (ideally Aderant)
- Impeccable time management and organisational skills
- Your written and oral communication skills will be second to none
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Work well under pressure and with competing deadlines
- Have a happy to help attitude where no job is too small
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
