About The Role
This position provides technical advice to Crew Leaders, Specialist Staff and Labourers on practical completion of maintenance activities with an emphasis on play spaces. This role works closely with other Team Leaders, Crew Leaders and technical specialists to identify resource capability and capacity needs in line with operational requirements.
This involves leading a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing and maintaining park infrastructure, ensuring the highest standards of quality and functionality in line with Australian Standards Operating with minimal supervision. You will lead, motivate, and supervise your team in executing a diverse range of maintenance tasks, with a primary focus on Council's playspaces, parks and formal open spaces.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with experience supervising field based or operational staff and providing technical advice and support in open space construction and/or maintenance delivery related fields.
- Experience in applying Workplace Health and Safety, Traffic Management systems and frameworks in an operational environment, including prestart inspections, site audits and licence checks.
- Capacity to use computer software systems including the ability to acquire the skills to use Council specific software.
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, or relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated management/leadership experience within the Open Spaces industry.
- Current “MR” class driver’s licence.
- A current “Positive Notice Blue Card” in QLD (WWCC) or ability to obtain.
- Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
- Queensland Government Accreditation for Traffic Management Implementation (TMI).
- Current First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain.
- Safe Working Near Live Exposed Parts training course.
- Level 3 Playground Inspector certificate or able to obtain within 6 months of commencement.
- Level 2 Chainsaw Operator qualification or ability to obtain.
- Agricultural Chemical Distribution & Control (ACDC) Licence or ability to obtain.
