About the role
This is a full-time opportunity located at Tarong Power Stations.
The Team Leader is responsible for providing organisation and supervision of maintenance teams at Tarong power stations to ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and effectively. Specifically, this role will be managing mill overhauls, including plant and people management to achieve this.
Key activities include:
Provide direct supervision across a multi skilled team of Mechanical Fitters, Power Workers and contractors whilst providing coaching and mentoring support to achieve team performance goals/KPIs.
Champion safety culture for the team and develop, authorise and implement safe work method statements to manage hazards and potential risks.
Coordinate planning resources to ensure work planning and scheduling activities are managed and effective for their respective function.
Exhibit and encourage a level of commercial diligence in cost of goods, services; and identify and action opportunity for improvement to the cost of generation and value return on expenditure.
Support the superintendent with any ad-hoc task as required, development of maintenance budgets and assist with investigation of any incidents or events that may arise.
About you
Trade qualifications in an appropriate mechanical trade, or equivalent experience.
Proficient knowledge of CMMS and Safe work systems and processes.
Effective communication, negotiation and supervisory skills.
Knowledge and expertise of mills.
Proven experience of implementing process changes to drive continuous improvement.
Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring a multi-skilled team.
Experience in planning and scheduling functions in a maintenance work team.
