The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the role is to manage the daily operation of multiple responsibilities in a high speed, high volume manufacturing environment. The Team Leader will be responsible for the development and implementation of activities in their area(s) to meet safety, quality and production design goals in addition to cost objectives, and promoting a strong team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising the performance of a large team of Operators to meet production targets and ensure adherence to the Hardie Manufacturing Operating System (HMOS), Quality, Safety and Standard Work Operating Procedures
Managing the workforce plan of assigned teams to ensure manning coverage
Comply with relevant Quality Standards, Product Specifications, Policies and Procedures
Ensuring all employees are properly trained on quality specifications and are accurately using testing equipment, interpret work instructions and Product Specifications
Lead, motivate and engage team members by applying effective people management processes and practices, utilizing Hardie Achieve where required.
Conduct team member assessments of competence against job standards and criteria using the Hardie Performance Management System
Conduct regular training needs analysis to ensure skills gaps are identified and operator bench strength and succession is planned for.
Build and promote a positive and efficient team environment through recognition
About you
Tertiary qualifications in engineering or trade preferrable
Knowledge and experience working within a 24/7 manufacturing environment in a leadership position
Ability to excel in a fast-changing environment
Ability to problem solve and make decisions through objective analysis, thinking ahead and planning
Ability to build relationships cross functionally through using internal and external networks
Ability to operate with a high level of energy, intensity and emotional express
Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft suite
Highly skilled in written and verbal communication.
Sound ability to manage conflict in the workplace.
Ability to manage time autonomously without instruction and guidance.
