About the Role:
The Senior Finance Officer provides high-quality services and support, contributing to the financial readiness, sustainability, and compliance of GCLA. This is achieved through performing a wide range of accounting functions with attention to detail, dedication to established timeframes, and partnering collaboratively with GCLA services. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Officer contributes to continuous improvement and implementation of financial services, as well as provides guidance, support, and clear instruction to the Finance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer financial operations, including billing for various supports and services.
- Manage billing brokerage and ensure accurate NDIS receipting.
- Perform reconciliation tasks and manage open payment balances.
- Oversee PAYG reconciliations, AP invoices, and direct debit payments.
- Support and guide the finance team, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
- Conduct bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
- Perform end-of-month GL account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Manage superannuation and long service leave claims.
- Oversee debtors and Commonwealth Home Support Programme billing.
- Lodge Business Activity Statements and QLeave returns.
- Handle year-end processes, including Single Touch Payroll reconciliation.
- Update MYOB unit prices and add new service types as needed.
- Perform Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
- Engage in training and professional development.
- Assist in external financial audits and support the Finance Manager/CFO.

- Proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in financial software, particularly MYOB and Brevity.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
