- Fixed Term Full Time (Until May 2025)
- Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
- Pro Rata amount of $70,508 per annum (LGIA Stream B Level 6 + Site Allowance + Leading Hand Allowance 2) + Superannuation

Your new role
Are you a natural leader and have experience working with captive native/ exotic animals looking to take the next step in your career? This position will see you fostering open two way communication and empowering your team to achieve goals while supervising the day to day operations of the Zoo. This position is specifically to fill the role of Native Mammals and Reptile Team Leader, so experience in these animals is a necessity.
The Zoo is operational 7 days a week. Weekend work and some night shift participation are required. Shift work can be anytime between 6am – 6pm depending on business requirements.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

- Demonstrated experience in working with captive native/exotic animals and knowledge of current legislation relevant to the position.
- Strong leadership qualities and supervisory skills with knowledge and experience in leading a team to success.

- Proven time management skills with experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Application Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Zoology (or relevant discipline) and/or substantial experience in the management of captive animals and zoo operations with specific experience with reptiles and native mammals.
- Experience in leading, mentoring and motivating staff to achieve outcomes with a One Team approach.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills along with the ability to liaise, negotiate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Time management skills including the ability to organise, plan and problem solve to achieve service standards and meet deadlines.
