The role has custodianship of Hunter Water's Community Engagement Strategy and ensures best practice community engagement across strategy and long term (horizon) planning activities. What you'll do:Implement the Community Engagement Strategy so that standard practices and procedures can be implemented from Strategic Engagement and planning to project delivery functions with a high degree of consistency.Responsible for effective handover of CSE plans to the engagement delivery team within the Communications and Engagement group.Responsible for ensuring appropriate community engagement resourcing across strategic programs and projects.Develop working relationships with program managers and leaders to provide communication and engagement advice and support, enabling them to develop their understanding of communication and engagement and enhance their skills and capability.Lead, coach and develop the Strategic Engagement team.What you'll need to be successful: Essential Criteria:Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related discipline with good industry experience.Proven relationship building and management skills and the ability to influence at senior levels.People leadership experience and a demonstrated ability to build and develop high performing teams.Strong written communication skills including the ability to plan, develop and prepare written communications materials for all mediums and audiences.Strong experience in developing and implementing compelling and 'right-sized' engagement approaches to support the successful delivery of projects.IAP2 AccreditedDesirable Criteria:Excellent planning and organisation skillsBudget management experienceExperience working within a State-Owned Corporation.Knowledge of water and wastewater equipment, system and processesApplication Steps: To be considered for this position applicants must submit a cover letter addressing the Selection Criteria and provide a current resume.
