WeSupportU is a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Service Provider established in 2018, servicing Bayside and Peninsula Melbourne. From a few dedicated local health workers believing they could do the NDIS differently, WeSupportU now employs more than 50 multi-disciplinary team members. WeSupportU is dedicated to the social inclusion of young people, adults and families living with disability.
At WeSupportU, we provide high impact, evidence-based interventions in a coordinated and flexible approach that values the voice of all our participants. WeSupportU is committed to the elimination of restrictive practice and works to enhance agency and self-determination for NDIS participants.
ABOUT THE ROLE
WeSupportU Team LeaderSupport Coordination leads a team in providing person centred services to young people and families with a disability in Bayside Peninsula Melbourne. As Team Leader, you will lead an experienced team of Specialised Support Coordinators, Support Coordinators, and Psychosocial Recovery Coaches who work with NDIS participants to achieve their goals through appropriate use of their NDIS funding. Within the role is the opportunity to grow and develop the team and services provided.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing/Health Sciences or equivalent discipline
- Current membership or practicing eligibility to join relevant regulatory body to your degree (e.g., AASW, AHPRA)
- A minimum three years of experience in related field of practice
- Demonstrated experience in providing case management, case coordination and risk management to individuals with complex support needs
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Genuine interest and passion for working with people with a disability
- The ability to manage challenging situations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A working knowledge of the NDIS, and experience in working with participants to achieve their goals in line with their NDIS plan
- A commitment to evidence-based assessment and intervention approaches
- Willingness to undertake ongoing training relevant to the position
- Effective collaboration and team membership to support implementation of strategies and plans
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, client databases and the Internet
- Ability and willingness to travel within the Greater Metropolitan area
PAY AND AWARD
Team LeaderSupport Coordination are employed under the Social Community Home Care and Disability Support (SCHADS) Award commencing Level 6, with pay to be negotiated with Executive Officer and Director based on level of experience and qualifications.
