Job description

Team LeaderSupporting Transitions

Sale and Bairnsdale, Gippsland

Full-time, ongoing

Base salary starting at $110,000 + superannuation + generous salary packaging benefits of up to $18,500.

Are you?

  • Passionate about working with children, young people and their families?
  • Ready for the challenge of building a new team?
  • Interested in seeing the client through a lens of ‘potential’ rather than one ‘deficit’?

Then this may be the role for you!

Who we are

Anchor provides high quality services that bring about significant improvements in the life experiences of children, young people and families and caregivers. We pride ourselves in working from a strengths-based, trauma informed model of care, Advantaged Thinking and Self-Determination Theory, where the voice of clients and carers are considered a priority to informing our practice and service development.

The Supporting Transitions team’s purpose is to empower the voice of the individual, and to support and promote positive change as they are the experts in their own lives. The team delivers a range of interventions that are individualised and funded through Targeted Care Packages, primarily used to either transition young people out of or ensure young do not enter residential services.

As part of an established Supporting Transitions team, you will work together to ensure that children and families receive seamless support as they move across the pathways. The team delivers a range of interventions that fall into the scope of Targeted Care Packages, including transitioning from care, family reunification and family preservation support.

Your purpose is to work constructively with young people from diverse backgrounds, integrating theoretical concepts such as positive psychology and Advantaged Thinking alongside that of developmental trauma.

There will be opportunities to grow your skills and experience, and be provided support, supervision, and professional development to set you up for success.

As a Team Leader your duties will include:

Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership, support, development and mentoring of staff to ensure they reach their full professional capacity.

Service Delivery

  • Coordinate the delivery of a high-quality program that provides genuine and positive outcomes for clients.

Service Development

  • Work collaboratively with the Program Manager to plan and implement responses in relation to sector and service developments.
  • Represent the Agency's services to potential participants, other agency services and outside agencies.

Accountability

  • Ensure KPI's are met and practice is delivered in accordance with all relevant legislative frameworks, including the program requirements and CIMS.

Strategic partnering activities

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of quality partnerships with key agencies including DFFH.

Qualifications

  • An appropriate degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related discipline, recognised in Australia, is required. Post graduate qualifications and/or minimum five years staff management experience considered an advantage.
  • To succeed in this role, you will have knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Advantaged Thinking, as well as the services, processes and networks that are needed and utilised by Anchor's client group.
  • You will also have the capacity to influence a culture of possibility with the ability to think outside the square and develop, consulting with key stakeholders, a creative and flexible approach to meeting the needs of our clients.

What we offer

Anchor is committed to developing our people. Here, you will be supported to be your best. We also provide:

  • Work arrangements that flex to you to allow for a positive work-life balance.
  • Additional ex gratia paid leave – 2 days per year at Christmas.
