The opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Buyer to join our procurement team and drive strategic initiatives that contribute to the success of our company. Reporting to the Operations and Supply Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate onboarding of new vendors, ensuring appropriate approvals and compliance are in place and summarized for management approval.
- Support the contract review and tender processes for vendors, ensuring timely extension or termination of Allight contracts and/or confidentiality agreements, working with contract owners and suppliers as required.
- Obtain quotations and required item master data for technical or contract manufacture items, from either the item creation process or technical packs provided by the business.
- Facilitate the approval process of new or changing items.
- Identify sole sourcing risks, working with internal stakeholders to provide approved secondary sourcing channels for these items to mitigate supply risk.
- Conduct price benchmarking analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings, making recommendations to management for approval and action.
- Action expediting and alternate sourcing requests where supply constraints exist to improve deliveries to customers both internal and external.
What You Must Have:
- Minimum 5 years' procurement experience in technical/contract manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in a technical field is desirable.
- Advanced level in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- Advanced level of literacy in S&OP, ERP (M3 desirable).
- Advanced problem-solving skills to develop and deploy solutions and sustainably effect change.
- Demonstratable experience communicating effectively with business partners, customers and internal and external stakeholders to meet mutual goals and objectives.
- Experience developing supply chain performance/reporting frameworks.
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to build and develop strong customer relationships.
