We are currently seeking an energetic and passionate individual to join our National team as a Technical Lead. Working in a team of claims specialists, you will be part of a supportive team pursuing excellence in customer service.
The primary purpose of this role is to bolster a team of claims consultants and specialists by providing technical assistance and guidance while supervising liability assessments and improve the overall efficiency of Club Marine’s claims team.
You'll be responsible for
- Undertake reviews of the claims technical process via review of claims files, invoices and staff feedback and provide feedback that leads to claims savings.
- Maintain knowledge of current legislation, together with Club Marine's product offering and how this impacts claims management, applying soundly based decision-making & advice to Claims Consultants to ensure decisions surrounding liability are accurate throughout the life of the claim.
- Provide oversight of the payments process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to claimants and providers.
- Identify relevant technical training needs for the claims unit through completion of training needs analysis and validation of approval to repair documents (ATR), acceptance of quotes, and technical referrals, providing regular feedback.
- Act as an effective escalation point for all technical product referrals.
- Provide oversight of all denial letters being issued to Insureds to ensure all denials are in accordance with Club Marine product offering and applying 'fairness' consideration. Register all being issued in denial register.
- Oversee a leakage monitoring program to identify areas where staff need technical development to increase knowledge & confidence in multi-dimensional claim file handling. Record and analyse claims leakage in detail, provide feedback to staff to enhance their skills. Work with Claims Management to develop and implement strategies to reduce preventable leakage and collaborate to lower overall costs.
- Proactively manage own portfolio of complex claims within CASA and make decisions within the appropriate policy limits.
About you
- Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of Technical Claims at a senior level meeting all competency elements defined in ‘Claims Competency Framework’ within General Insurance is essential.
- A sound understanding of boating/ pleasure craft industry is beneficial.
- Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships.
- Identifies issues and opportunities using all relevant and available information. Determines the causes and possible solutions to risk/problems to drive excellent customer experience.
- Knows how to use the software effectively and efficiently. Understands the processes and procedures that align to providing excellent customer experience.
- The ability to understand, interpret, communicate, and take action recognising market/industry issues and trends.
