The Opportunity
AIA Australia has a fantastic opportunity for the Technical Delivery Lead to take a lead role in delivering technical portion of small to large size projects. This exciting key role will see you engaging with other technology functions, Architecture, Tech Risk, Infrastructure, Project Delivery and support. Contribute to, influence and supervise key elements of the development and deployment of the technical solution.
To do this successfully you will:

• Having complete birds end to end view of the portfolio technical activities ensuring successful solution design and implementation.
• Driving application life cycle improvements
• Design and detail major technical components of applications, including components such as user interface, middleware and infrastructure
• Take full responsibility for defining a technical solution based on business requirements and related Solution Architecture Design for assigned projects
• Build designs that address relevant areas of complexity and provide a fully considered and detailed solution design
• Ensure a flawless integration of new and existing applications
• Optimize technical design to promote re-usability of technical components.
• Lead Development Teams (local and offshore) and vendors to deliver required software solution
• Onboarding and induction to new staff

Successful applications will demonstrate:

• Solid commercial experience of working within software development projects preferably in insurance or financial industry
• Extensive experience in application development, software design and architecture
• Solid team leadership experience.
• Mandatory: Methodology - Agile (Scrum) & Waterfall
• Responsive design concepts, Continuous improvement knowledge.
• Wide knowledge of available tools, popular standards and work techniques
• Knowledge of architectural patterns and software design patterns, with demonstrable experience applying the patterns to technical design.
