Job Description
Team Summary
The Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability.
In Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Managed Services is the execution arm of VCA. Our teams (also known as squads) are embedded on client sites; leading long-term engagements and delivering value primarily through implementation and execution services. We deliver objectives from a shared value agenda, effectively becoming the enablers and trusted strategic advisors for our clients.
What a Technical Delivery Lead does at Visa:
As the Technical Delivery Lead, you will lead and oversee a delivery squad of software engineers. Your team will work within one of our key issuing partner's environment helping them to deliver digital capabilities which enable best in class customer experiences for their end users.
You will:
  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end Client Delivery Programme
  • Lead recruitment of the team of 6 resources
  • Build strong relationships with clients to deeply understand their business and challenges
  • Identify and solve both client and internal challenges to help us execute efficiently and effectively
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and liase with cross functional teams to identify delivery support required and create recommendations on resource model to achieve desired outcomes
  • Manage stakeholders in complex environments and at senior levels - across the client and Visa
  • Bring subject matter expertise across diverse range of payments topics
  • Playback results and success of programme to clients, leading to renewed contracts and programme extensions
  • Document processes, key learnings and best practices in artefacts that can be reused across the team
  • Be a strong people leader ensuring you get the best from your team

This role will support a key client in Australia and will help to scale our Managed Services capabilities supporting Visa's ambition of diversifying our revenue. Managed Services is an emerging, fast growth, focus area for the Visa business globally.
This role will support one of our most strategically important issuing clients in Australia and will be responsible for delivering significant improvements to their digital consumer banking and payments experience. If you are a trailblazer, this is the role for you. We need a leader to establish a strong team, set the vision for how we will deliver value to our client and develop the best practice template for how we expand this Managed Service offering in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia Pacific.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Deep experience in managing complex projects

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong oral and written capabilities

  • Experience in and passion for payments
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in working on business/value cases that prove ROI
  • Excellent client engagement and relationship management skills with a collaborative approach to stakeholder management
Valuable experience:
  • 5 - 10 years experience leading and/or overseeing project delivery
  • Deep understanding and empathy of customer needs and commercial drivers
  • Technical competence to be able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders -architects, UX practitioners and the development team essential
  • Working in Agile environments is valuable, specifically the Scrum framework
  • Able to keep pace with emerging technologies and genuine desire to be across new product designs and user experience trends
  • Experience of presenting in person and remotely to a range of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation is desirable
  • Consumer banking, finance and/or payments experience desirable
  • Experience with Financial Institution/Banking digital product development
Projects you will be a part of:
This role will play a critical role in helping to architect Managed Services, a new business line which is in high demand from our clients. Once established in our initial clients, this role will support the scaling of these services across Australia and New Zealand, and through other markets in AP. Initially this role will lead and oversee a significant strategic project that will help solve some of our client's most important challenges.
