As a Technical Director - Energy Advisory, you have relevant energy engineering qualifications and have significant proven experience in the design and delivery for major energy projects. You will be able to demonstrate leadership qualities and the following skills, abilities and experience:
- Relevant degree in Engineering.
- A proactive approach and able to work as part of an integrated energy team to accomplish project milestones and deadlines;
- A thorough understanding of authority approvals processes, liaison management and reporting skills;
- Leadership skills and the ability to outline and assign work and review for technical accuracy and adequacy.
- The ability to plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the work of other professional and technical staff.
- Ability to lead, develop and manage a team of staff.

Your opportunity
Mott MacDonald's energy team is working to establish and manage long-term positive client relationships with SA, NT and national energy market clients, including in capital project development, particularly in the renewable energy and new energy sectors; energy project financing; energy market policy development; energy network service providers; and regulators. The team will support the National Energy Advisory Lead, National Energy Lead and SA Energy Lead in developing and delivering their respective business plans, including developing appropriate plans for your sub-market segment. Also involved is leading the identification and capture of opportunities to develop bids that are client-focused, technically excellent, value adding, and commercially sound.
You will possess the ability to undertake complex tasks and operate effectively across the business boundaries and interact with internal and external clients, dealing with middle to senior level professionals to form key relationships.
Your responsibilities will include working effectively with our leaders to bring the right mix of resources to deliver the project to clients' satisfaction and lead and/or deliver a range of services to local and national clients including:
- Techno-commercial and economic modelling of energy markets, including the impacts of technical, commercial and regulatory changes.
- Network studies from both a technical and business case perspective.
- Regulatory advice including submissions, responses and the development of regulatory models to both regulated entities and regulators.
- Policy research and quantitative analysis to inform National and State/Territory public-policy submissions.
- Major tender and competition reviews as part of independent pricing and regulatory submissions.
- Business cases, modelling and other commercial and technical advisory elements.
