The Underground Technology Team (UTT) is the division of Mapei, formed in 1999, dedicated to provide a global solution to all the technical requirements of its clients operating in the underground construction sector.
About the Opportunity
Are you a Civil Engineer and have experience in large infrastructure and tunnelling projects?
Join our dynamic team at Mapei and play a pivotal role in expanding our influence in the infrastructure and mining sectors across Australia. We seek an experienced professional who blends technical expertise in tunnelling or underground construction engineering with robust business development and customer relationship management skills. Your mission will be to drive growth in our range of products while positioning Mapei as a market leader.
Reporting directly to the National Product Manager, this high-profile role will see you analysing potential projects and working with key customers to propose fit for purpose products, used successfully around the world, to meet customer needs and requirements.
About the Role
- Strategically analyses key projects to identify opportunities and implement MAPEI’s solutions for various works packages.
- Provide market growth potentials to support resource investment.
- Responsible for driving Mapei Specifications.
- Cultivate and deepen trust with major clients, understanding their unique needs to propose tailored solutions.
- Serve as a pivotal link between clients and internal teams, ensuring the correct application of products and timely technical support throughout projects.
- Proactively address and resolve client issues to maintain trust and satisfaction.
- Drive new business opportunities, fostering long-term professional relationships.
- Compile and analyse key account metrics for regular progress reports, influencing product development and sales strategies.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology, with advanced degrees preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in both technical & commercial aspects of tunnel and underground construction and business development.
- In-depth knowledge of tunnelling/underground construction techniques (TBM, Mechanized Tunnelling, Drill and Blast, NATM) and ground support strategies.
- Proven ability in building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a team player with a drive to meet and exceed targets.
- Valid and current motor vehicle driver’s license.
Language & Other Skills
- Be articulate and well-presented, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to communicate effectively in Italian, an advantage
- Computer Skills, Microsoft Suit, CRM
