What you do:

As a Technical Lead, you will be leading the engineering and providing thought leadership and technical guidance to ensure the highest quality and fit-for-purpose for our platforms. You will also be accountable for building products in line with the technology strategy and product roadmaps. This includes making collaborative decisions on technology stack, design patterns, and overall technical strategy for your domain. 

You will be a practitioner level software engineer in your respective domain and have the technical ability to observe/analyse software engineering/development practices and drive the practice maturity and capability uplift. This is a technical role, so you’re expected to spend a percentage of your time ‘on the tools’ writing code. 

This role is suitable for a development practitioner with solid commercial experience in designing, building, and running distributed and scalable API-based platforms, aspiring to grow into a Technical Leadership position and be a key player in the company-wide digital transformation, designing and building the next iteration of digital products and platforms. 

What you need:

• Required: Solid commercial experience leading the API design and development practice, implementing both API producer and API consumer scenarios.   
• Required: Practical experience in designing, building, and running solutions in AWS cloud with focus on scalability and reliability with serverless and event-driven architecture. 
• Required: Solid Knowledge of API Gateway, ESB, and Service Mesh platforms and technologies. 
• Required: Experience in leading and growing software engineering teams. 
• Required: Commercial experience with Node.JS and/or Java. 
• Required: Experience running applications and systems in production environment with high focus on end-to-end observability. 
• Desirable: Experience working within a highly regulated industry. 
• Desirable: Experience in hybrid inhouse/offshore delivery model  
• Desirable: Experience in leading change within technology function in an organisation with both B2C and B2B requirements.
