Our client is a leader in renewable energy, driving the future of sustainable power solutions across Australia and Asia. Currently they are expanding their footprint in wind energy, and are seeking a dedicated Wind Technical Lead to play a crucial role in the development and management of our Multi-Gigawatt scale projects.
Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Project Director and Head of Technical, the Wind Technical Lead will oversee the full project lifecycle, focusing on wind generation assets. This role will encompass project management, engineering support, and strategic coordination to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Provide robust project management support for wind generation assets, including turbines, met masts, LiDARs, and transmission infrastructure.
- Planning and Scoping: Guide project scope development, technology selection, and delivery planning for wind generation projects.
- Costing and Forecasting: Prepare and manage development and execution budgets, collaborate on cost estimation, and contribute to scheduling inputs.
- Innovation: Drive innovation strategies, identifying opportunities and threats to optimize project outcomes.
- Procurement and Contracting: Offer expert input on contracting and procurement strategies, contribute to tender processes, and select contractors and suppliers.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout project phases.
- Design, Engineering, and Reporting: Develop and document concept selections, optimization strategies, and planning frameworks aligned with business case requirements.
- Operational Requirements: Ensure operational and maintenance needs are integrated into project requirements effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, engineering, procuring, and delivering mid- to large-scale wind generation projects in Australia.
- Strong project management skills with experience in multidisciplinary engineering projects.
- Problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of renewable energy project development.
- Background in renewable energy project management and electrical transmission systems is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).
- Project Management qualification is desirable; Professional Engineer certification is a plus.
- A relevant Master's degree is advantageous but not essential.
