The Technology Infrastructure department is responsible to provide a strategic interface between the latest technology changes in infrastructure, application teams with Group IT and interacting directly with business units across Optus.
This tech product manager & owner role is a position in the Cloud Centre of Excellence team and will be responsible for the design and onboarding of new solutions to AWS, GCP and Azure cloud platforms and identifying candidates for On-Premise to Cloud migration.
Your day in the life of a Technical Product Owner at Optus

• Lead an Agile team consisting of DevOps Engineers, Cloud Architects, Network Engineers, representatives from Cyber Security, IDAM and Observability teams.
• Focus on onboarding new accounts to meet project requirements and design IAM permissions to ensure least privilege enforcement with application teams.
• Design and implement cloud security guardrails using SCP and Config.
• Design migration plan for accounts from legacy to strategic landing zones.
• Integrate IDAM and monitoring solution into AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Agile team backlog grooming, Sprint planning and showcase.

Your skills to pay the bills

• Thought leadership and deep industry knowledge in IT or Telecommunications together with AWS Solution Architect Certification.
• Understand cloud computing and workload transition challenges, together with the knowledge of technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage and virtualisation
• Knowledge of designing available, cost efficient, fault tolerant, and scalable distributed systems
• Be familiar with IaaS and PaaS solutions
• Strong people leadership skills in order to build, lead and empower virtual Agile team
• An ability to build relationships and influence Senior Executives underpinned by superb written and verbal communication
• Experience of financial modelling and analysis of large-scale IT infrastructure, application and/or service investments, including base lining the total cost of ownership, detailed scenario analysis and functionality trade-offs
