As a Technical Program Manager II in Azure Front Door team, you will work with cross functional teams to shape the future of the product. You will define deeply technical requirements and scope to maximize performance and efficiency of our globally distributed platform. You will work with engineering to ensure we have the right system architecture, platform resiliency, telemetry and scalability to effectively deliver demands from the largest Azure customers. You will manage mission critical projects which will define how we route traffic at the rate of millions or requests per second destined across thousands of servers across the globe. You will also oversee critical project schedule and communicate project progress to leadership. Responsibilities:

  • You will partner with Software Engineering to design technical solutions across feature areas. You’ll also identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.
  • You’ll define success criteria as you collaborate with others to implement features for cross-functional projects. You’ll coordinate and ensure alignment across teams.
  • With minimal supervision, you will help deliver on roadmap for feature groups, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and stay updated with governance programs.
  • You will drive continuous improvements by validating use cases. You’ll also lead teams to partner with other departments to collect performance metrics, drive customer support, and lead direct customer engagements.
  • You will design and track measurements for platform efficiency and resiliency improvements.
  • You will influence technical product strategy, identify risks and develop mitigation plan, define system priorities, and shape platform direction.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years' experience in engineering, product/Technical Program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience delivering complex Technical Programs or products from inception to completion.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional / Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/Technical Program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • 1+ years of experience with large distributed systems or public cloud platforms.
  • 1+ years of experience with content delivery networks, load balancers or application security products like WAF, Firewall, DDoS protection.
  • Proficient in communications skills, critical thinking, and hands on troubleshooting capabilities.
