One of the main differentiators between this technology and standard battery systems is its extended throughput. Where most batteries on the market today last between 5-10 years, this system has an expected 25–30-year operational lifespan.
The business is now seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to capitalise on this ground-breaking technology and drive future sales growth across residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Outstanding candidates are self-starters with superb networking abilities, research skills, and a good eye for opportunities as well as the ability to convey the technical benefits of products to potential clients in a language they understand and know what essential information is required for in-house engineering teams to design a system. You will manage contract negotiations, nuture relationships with key customers, and partner with internal technical and marketing teams to utilise customer insights and market intelligence to contribute to the product roadmap.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Memorising technical product specifications and keeping up-to-date with new company products as well as industry trends.
- Attending conferences, lectures, seminars, and workshops to improve your skills and knowledge.
- Conducting market research and obtaining feedback from clients to improve existing products.
- Simplifying technical terms during product demonstrations and post-sales customer support.
- Maintaining strong professional relationships with existing clients and meeting with new clients to expand sales territories.
- Advanced knowledge of the solar and battery industry to be able to collect the required information from clients that can be used by our in-house engineers to design a energy security solution.
- Updating orders and sales and negotiating the best contract terms.
- Listening to customers’ needs and advising them on the best products to buy.
What you will bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar.
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of the segments of the energy storage market.
- Strong Technical Sales experience and demonstrated track record of success.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing people and systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Record of consistently delivering strong profitable sales growth.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success defining and launching products.
- Strong customer service, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational, research, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
- A professional appearance.
- A valid driver’s license.
