About the Role
As the Technical Skills Laboratory Assistant within the Melbourne School of Health Sciences (MSHS), you'll collaborate closely with various stakeholders including the Facilities Coordinator, Technical Skills Laboratory Officer, and academic staff to ensure the smooth operation of clinical simulation teaching programs. While primarily supporting Physiotherapy and Nursing programs, you'll also assist other MSHS disciplines as needed.This role requires regular lifting and moving of equipment.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare and maintain simulation and practical skills labs including the cleaning of beds and general hygiene control.
  • Assemble and dismantle equipment in the School's simulation and practical teaching rooms.
  • Prepare and pack equipment and supplies for transportation to ANMF laboratories and assist with set up of equipment at ANMF on arrival each teaching period.
  • Provide additional equipment and materials to ANMF as required.
  • Assist with organising transport and relocations as directed by the supervisor.
Who We Are Looking For
You will possess strong interpersonal skills, adept at fostering positive interactions within a multidisciplinary team and engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, you will demonstrate exceptional organisational abilities, consistently meeting deadlines and efficiently managing competing priorities with professionalism.You will also have:
  • Completion of a Certificate III or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in order to respond to internal and external enquiries.
  • Computer skills demonstrated by the effective use of the Microsoft suite of programs including Outlook.
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently and proactively.
