About Your Opportunity
As a Technical Specialist, you will provide technical support in your specific discipline for the maintenance and project management teams in relation to the operation, maintenance, refurbishment and augmentation of assets, along with providing technical advice and support to the Maintenance Coordinators, contractors and field staff within the Region. You will provide technical support and direction to the specific discipline appointed to ensure consistency across the Regions; as well as assisting with Seqwater's Management of Change Category B simple change process as required.
This role is responsible for:
- Lead the regional Maintenance teams with technical support for specific discipline around electrical, mechanical or civil assets.
- Review, scope and assist in development of Business cases and provide technical review of proposed projects.
- Be Maintenance point of contact for all project delivery phases including assisting with commissioning and closeout.
- Provide technical support and advice and resolve complex technical issues by maintenance and project teams as required.
- Utilise advanced asset management tools/concepts, such as condition monitoring, in order to assess the condition of the assets and establish the most appropriate maintenance regime for the assets.
- Provide advice to the maintenance planners on the development, scope and frequency of the planned maintenance program.
- Mentor staff to aide career development.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essentials
- Associate Diploma in Engineering, or an appropriate trade qualification in mechanical or electrical discipline as relevant to the position.
- Possess a current "C" class Queensland Drivers Licence.
- Post trade qualification in maintenance management practices would be desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of the scope, function and nature of the Electrical/Mechanical/Civil assets used in water treatment and bulk water storage.
- Knowledge of processes used to assess the condition of assets and establish the most appropriate maintenance regime for the assets.
- Technical knowledge of industry best practice and asset requirements in the water industry.
- Extensive experience in the field of maintenance of Water Assets or similar industry.
- Extensive experience in detailing technical requirements for a maintenance team.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge regarding design and maintainability of assets with the ability to review specifications and project scopes.
